En octobre 2019, je rencontrais sur Instagram Rami, un photographe passionné de la nature et vivant au Libéria, pays voisin à la Côte-d’Ivoire. A travers ses photos, Rami fait la promotion touristique du Libéria et vous montre des lieux encore inconnus du grand public. C’est exactement ce qui m’a poussé à prendre l’avion quelques mois plus tard pour vivre une nouvelle aventure à quelques heures d’Abidjan.
Le Liberia est un pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest bordé au sud par l’océan Atlantique, au nord-ouest par la Sierra Leone, au nord par la Guinée et à l’est par la Côte d’Ivoire. Première nation d’Afrique à avoir obtenu son indépendance en 1847, le Libéria est également connu pour être le seul état africain dirigé par une femme élue démocratiquement, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, de 2005 à 2017. Après 12 années de pouvoir, le flambeau est remis à l’ancien footballeur George Weah, l’une des personnalités libériennes les plus connus du monde.
In October 2019, I met Rami, a photographer passionate about nature and living in Liberia, a country neighboring to Côte-d’Ivoire, on Instagram. Through his photos, Rami promotes tourism in Liberia and shows you places still unknown to the general public. This is exactly what prompted me to take the plane a few months later to live a new adventure a few hours from Abidjan. Liberia is a country in West Africa bordered to the south by the Atlantic Ocean, to the northwest by Sierra Leone, to the north by Guinea and to the east by Côte d’Ivoire. The first African nation to gain independence in 1847, Liberia is also known to be the only African state led by a democratically elected woman, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, from 2005 to 2017. After 12 years in power, the torch is handed over to former footballer George Weah, one of the most famous Liberian figures in the world.
